    Job description

    Our backend systems do the heavy lifting behind every removal, from queuing requests to tracking confirmations across hundreds of sources. As a Backend Engineer you will build the services and pipelines that keep that work fast, reliable, and secure.

    The opportunity

    This is a role for an engineer who enjoys solid systems work. You will design APIs and background jobs, improve reliability, and make sure our automation scales smoothly as we take on more members.

    Your key responsibilities

    • Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and background jobs that power removals
    • Improve the reliability and performance of our automation pipelines
    • Design data models and queries that stay fast as our data grows
    • Add monitoring and alerting so we catch issues before members do
    • Work closely with the rest of engineering to ship features safely

    Skills and attributes for success

    • Experience building backend services with Node and TypeScript or a similar stack
    • A good understanding of relational databases and API design
    • Comfort working with queues, scheduled jobs, and third-party integrations
    • An eye for reliability, observability, and security
    • A willingness to learn and a collaborative mindset
