The short answer

The official Cash App Security Settlement website says payments will be issued to approved claims in October 2026. New claims are closed. This is an update for people whose existing claims were approved, not an invitation for every Cash App user to apply for compensation.

If you are waiting for a payment, check the official settlement website rather than a social post promising a particular payout or arrival date.

What has actually been confirmed?

The settlement administrator's update, dated 28 September 2026, says the review of claim deficiencies and appeals has been completed and distribution to approved claims will take place in October.

The same website records that the court granted final approval on 27 March 2025. The deadline for submitting claim forms was 18 November 2024, and late claims are no longer being accepted.

The October update does not give everyone a specific payment day or confirm an individual award amount. It also does not establish that every approved claimant has already received their money.

What was the lawsuit about?

The case, Salinas, et al. v. Block, Inc. and Cash App Investing, LLC, concerns allegations relating to data-security incidents disclosed in April 2022 and October 2023, alongside alleged unauthorised withdrawals, transfers and problems with complaint handling.

Block and Cash App Investing deny wrongdoing. A settlement should not be described as an admission that every allegation was proved.

This article concerns the Cash App Security Settlement. Do not assume that a headline about a different Cash App settlement describes the same claim, deadline or payment.

Can you still submit a claim?

No. The official administrator says the claim deadline has passed and late claims are no longer accepted.

If a website invites you to make a fresh claim for this settlement in October 2026, that conflicts with the administrator's current notice. Do not supply identity documents or banking details through an unfamiliar link.

If you filed on time but are unsure about your claim, use the administrator's official website and contact information. Keep your claim confirmation and any genuine correspondence available.

How to check a payment message safely

Never publish a claim number or personal payment details in a public comment while asking for help.

  • Type cashappsecuritysettlement.com into your browser yourself.
  • Check that the message relates to this specific settlement and your existing claim.
  • Treat requests for a login password, one-time security code or an upfront release fee as warning signs.
  • Do not assume a display name or familiar logo proves who sent an email.
  • Contact the settlement administrator using details obtained from its website if you are unsure.

What this means for your privacy

Compensation and privacy protection solve different problems. A settlement payment does not erase information that may previously have been accessed.

Keep watching for suspicious account activity and messages that use the settlement as a reason to request personal information. Our data-breach action guide explains practical next steps.

If you also want to understand your wider exposure, you can run a free ProtectMyData scan. That is separate from the settlement and cannot verify a claim, determine a payout or release a payment.
