How to opt out of Whitepages
1. Find your listing
Search Whitepages with your name, city and state. Open View Details and check that the listing's phone number or address belongs to you.

2. Copy the profile link
Open your profile and copy the full URL from your browser's address bar, not a search-results link.

3. Open the suppression form
Paste the profile link into the official suppression form and choose Next.
Check the matched details, choose Remove Me, select a reason and continue. Follow the live form if it has changed.
Open Whitepages' suppression form

4. Follow the phone check
Enter your phone number, review the agreement and choose Call Now to Verify. Answer the call and enter the four-digit code shown on the page.
A processing message means your request is underway, not confirmed removal.

What happens next
Whitepages' official help page describes a processing confirmation after successful phone verification. It does not establish a fixed listing-removal deadline in the guidance inspected for this guide.
Save the submitted listing URL or identifying details, request date and every response. Received, processing and completed are different states.
After the site reports completion, check the original listing and search again for matching records. A temporary error, access block or empty search alone does not prove deletion.
Check other websites separately. Keep a reminder to review the original site again, rather than assuming one request protects every copy forever.
Check any separate Whitepages result or product teaser you previously saw. Do not assume that a suppressed listing cancels a subscription or changes an outside background report.
What removal covers
Whitepages offers people-search, contact and background-report products. This guide focuses on removing a personal listing, not editing a public record or cancelling a paid subscription.
- One website's copy
- A website opt-out concerns that site's data offering. It does not erase an original public record or automatically remove the same information from other websites.
- Search results
- A search result can lag behind the underlying page. Check the actual listing separately from Google or other search engines; this guide does not promise a delisting deadline.
- Browser privacy
- Cookies and advertising controls are separate from a people-search listing. Use the site's current privacy settings for those choices.
Having trouble?
The URL is not accepted
Open the actual Whitepages profile, rather than copying a search-engine link or homepage. Copy the address directly. Whitepages' help page shows that an individual listing URL includes a reference at the end.
The verification call does not work
The official help page directs users who encounter difficulties to the Customer Care Team through Request Help. Use that published support route rather than guessing codes or borrowing another person's phone details.
The page is blocked or will not load
Try the official page again later in a current browser. Do not bypass an access challenge, buy a background report to unlock removal or treat a blocked page as a completed request.
A request is marked received, but the listing remains
Check the response for its status and any published processing guidance. Keep your original request details for a follow-up through the site's official privacy or support route.
Google still shows the old result
Open the underlying page first. If it has genuinely changed or disappeared, you can use Google's Refresh Outdated Content tool. This is a separate process, not a promise of immediate search removal.
Whitepages opt-out FAQs
What is the official Whitepages opt-out page?
Use https://www.whitepages.com/suppression-requests. The public first screen asks for the URL of the profile you want removed.
Does Whitepages require phone verification?
Its official Edit or Remove a personal listing help article describes a telephone number, a verification call and a four-digit code. We inspected that guidance, but did not trigger a call or test the later screens.
Do I need a paid Whitepages subscription?
The public suppression starting screen was available without a login or purchase. Use the removal flow, not a paid background-report offer.
Does opting out remove public records?
No. Whitepages says it cannot hide information in databases it does not control. Other sites and the original records are separate.
Will a request remove me from Google immediately?
No immediate outcome is promised. Whitepages warns that search engines can retain cached information. Check the underlying listing first.

Quick calculator
What does doing it yourself cost?
Adjust the numbers to see how repeated opt-out work could add up over a year. This is an illustrative personal estimate in US dollars.
Illustrative only. It does not measure removals, show plan savings or guarantee any result.
How this is calculated
hours = brokers x minutes per request x times per year / 60; value = hours x value of one hour
